About Us
Michelle Anderson, BA, LDH
I am a licensed dental hygienist in the state of MN and have been working clinically since 2003. Many of these years have been in a Prosthodontist’s office in NE Minneapolis and has exposed me to a variety of patients that include, medically compromised, geriatric and special needs patients. I enjoy finding creative solutions to both typical and atypical dental issues.
In addition to working clinically, I taught dental hygiene at a small private university in the Twin Cities. I was an instructor in the labs, classroom and clinic. For part of that time I was the Clinical Director of the program and played an integral part in the formation and initial curriculum development.
Prior to entering the dental world, I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Studio Art with a concentration in Art Metals from UW Stout. I chose to pursue a career in the dental field because I enjoy working with my hands in detail oriented tasks, as well as always having a profound interest for science and biology.
Sandra Johnston, BS, LDH
As a licensed dental hygienist for the past 30 years, I have had a broad, diverse, and exciting career. It started with an Associate’s Degree in dental hygiene from the University of South Dakota, a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Northwestern University and currently, continued course-work in a Master’s Degree in Business Organizational Leadership from Northwestern University. My path has included clinical hygiene in both small practices and large corporate o ces in South Dakota and Minnesota, time in Arizona as insurance and payment plan manager, as well as a Community Health worker on a medical relief ship in West Africa. Most recently I have worked in the educational arena of dental hygiene as the Program Director for a small private university in the Twin Cities. This 10 year position included classroom and clinic instruction, as well as managing the program.
I love the feeling I have while teaching and mentoring students and faculty. Whether it is tips on sharpening instruments, determining whether dental hygiene is really a good fit for a student, or encouraging a faculty member who is questioning their calling; there is nothing like the feeling when someone “gets it”. I most enjoy spending time with my family. My husband and I have 2 boys; Samuel and Jonah. We also have 2 monster dogs and a cat. My parents still live on the “home place” in South Dakota and we travel back to enjoy the wide open spaces as much as possible. I also love to read, write, garden, bike, ski and drink red wine

We have a combined 30 years of experience in education and over 40 years of clinical experience. We have taken great strides to maintain current skills, and science-based information to utilize in the classroom and clinic. During our teaching experiences, our favorite time is spent in small group, collaborative settings with a lot of personal interaction.
